Well we did it. We made it through the Christmas month. Whew! On one hand we say, “Praise God for all it meant, for all we gave and got”. On the other hand we say, “Wow, what was all that?” Family, friends, shopping, cooking, wrapping, lights, trees, traveling, money – money – money. Zoom. It was both Yea! and Ughh! My observation to Lisa this year, right on Christmas Day was, “Why do we try and literally cram a year’s worth of everything into ONE DAY?” It’s like 12 months of doing, sharing, singing, shaking (hands), hugging, all shoved into one gigantic, blindingly potent day. Although I’m not complaining – exactly – I am here to make an observation. Maybe we could take our Christmas enthusiasm, the same creativity, the same money, the same affection and s-p-e-a-d i-t o-u-t over the next year. Love people in a “Christmas way” throughout the whole year. Make cookies and give them away in February. Buy a nice gift and give it away in April. Hug people and tell them you love them in June. Take a picture of your family and send it with a really heart-felt, hand written message and a gift card to Dunkin’ Donuts – – in August. See what I mean. Spread it out. Then when Christmas 2015 comes around next year, it’s just ONE of the special days we share, create for and love one another in, just not the only one. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone. With Love, Randy Gordon
