Lisa teaches us how to mediate on God’s word, and why it’s so important!

The word “meditate” means to utter, to speak, to imagine, and to study. Think of your spirit as soil, the Word of God as seed and your meditation of that Word as water. The more you water those seeds, the more they’ll grow! All you have to do is open the book (or Bible app on your electronic device) and do one of those four things: utter, speak, imagine or study.

Say you’re reading a story from the book of John about Jesus healing someone, use your imagination as to what was really happening in that setting. Think about what the person could have looked like, about what the passage is saying on how they reacted to Jesus and what it means to you in your own set of circumstances. Don’t just read it, let it become part of your view of God. If He did it for them, He’ll do it for you. He has no favorites, because we’re all His favorite! Contemplating these things will make the words of the Bible come alive to you and your faith will grow! It also helps to speak the words out loud so that you can really speak them from your heart.

We love you,
Gordon Ministries
