Good morning dear ones!

I would like to exhort you today that our God is THE GOD OF ALL COMFORT.  Let’s look at 2 Corinthians 1:3-4,

  • Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and THE GOD OF ALL COMFORT, Who COMFORTS us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to COMFORT those who are in any trouble, with the COMFORT with which we ourselves are COMFORTED by God.

The Bible is the Word of God written to His people, and it contains everything we need to be complete (2 Timothy 3:15-17).  Part of the “everything” we need is COMFORT.  The Bible has a lot to say about COMFORT and it can COMFORT us!

So, how does the Bible COMFORT us?  I would way that the most important aspect of God’s Word are His promises ~ promises the Lord makes to those who trust Him.  It is these promises that bring COMFORT. It’s important to remember that all the promises in the Bible have to be combined with faith.  The Scripture tells us in Hebrews 11:6 that without faith, it is impossible to please God.

As we trust in God’s promises by faith, He will reward us accordingly with joy, peace, and COMFORT ~ intangible things that the world cannot give.

Isaiah 26:3 says,

  • You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.

Do you remember when Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12:10,

  • For when I am weak, then I am strong?

Well, if we continue reading the first chapter of 2 Corinthians, verse 9 says,

  • …we should not trust in ourselves, but in God…

Even Timothy warns the rich of this world in 1 Timothy 6:17,

  • …Not to trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God…

It’s not to satan’s advantage to attack us because God’s COMFORT will only super-abound towards us!

Psalm 23:4 says,

  • Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me.  Your rod and Your staff, they COMFORT me.

Just remember, you are never alone.  God promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us.  That should bring you amazing COMFORT today.

Psalm 37:28 says,

  • …The LORD does not forsake His saints; they are preserved forever.

I am writing to you today because 1 Thessalonians 5:11 says,

  • Therefore COMFORT each other and edify one another just as you are doing.

One last Scripture to COMFORT you.  It’s from Psalm 119:49-51,

  • Remember Your word to Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope.  This is my COMFORT in my affliction, for Your word has given me life.

“Father, You are THE GOD OF ALL COMFORT.   We bless You because You COMFORT us and encourage us in every trouble so that we will be able to COMFORT and encourage those who are in any kind of trouble with the COMFORT with  which we ourselves are COMFORTED by You.  Your Holy Spirit is our helper.  You are able to set on high those who are lowly, and those who mourn are lifted to safety.  We thank You that as we wait upon You, our hearts are strengthened and encouraged.  We praise and adore You, Almighty God, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Walking in His COMFORT,

Lisa Gordon
