Good morning beloved!
Did you know that the Scripture declares in Galatians 4:6-7 that we are HEIRS OF GOD THROUGH CHRIST? This is what it says from the Message Bible,
• We have been set free to experience our rightful heritage. You can tell for sure that you are now fully adopted as His Own children because God sent the Spirit of His Son into our lives crying out, “Papa, Father!” Doesn’t that priviledge of intimate conversation with God make it plain that you not a slave, but a child? And if you are a child, you’re also an HEIR, with complete access to the inheritance.
Wow, family! You became HEIR to a fortune when you gave your life to Jesus. At that moment, you were born again into the richest family every known. You were born into a royal family that owns are operates the universe. You have received an inheritance so vast it will take all of eternity to fully comprehend it!
The definition of the word, “HEIR” in the Greek is: One who receives an inheritance by right of birth. We have been born again into the royal family as HEIRS to our Father’s kingdom. 1 Peter 1:3-4 (CEB) says,
• May the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ be blessed! On account of his vast mercy, He has given us new birth. You have been born anew into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. You have a pure and enduring inheritance that cannot perish – an inheritance that is presently kept safe in heaven for you.
Not only are we HEIRS OF GOD but we are also JOINT HEIRS WITH JESUS, according to Romans 8:16-17,
• The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then HEIRS – HERIS OF GOD and JOINT HEIRS WITH CHRIST…
This word, “JOINT HEIR” means in union together with an inheritor. Hebrews 1:1-2 (NKJV) states that,
• God, Who at various times and in various ways spoke in times past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, Whom He has appointed HEIR OF ALL THINGS…
If Jesus is HEIR OF ALL THINGS and we are JOINT HEIRS WITH JESUS, we must be HEIRS of all things as well. Galatians 4:7 (NLT) says,
• Since you are His child, everything He has belongs to you.
The Message Bible says it this way,
• If you are a child, you’re also an HEIR, with complete access to the inheritance.
God’s inheritance is the full scope of God’s provision that encompasses everything – spirit, soul, body, financially, and socially. 2 Peter 1:3 (NIV) states this,
• His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him Who called us by His Own glory and goodness.
Our inheritance as HEIRS OF GOD includes everything we would ever need. Revelation 21:7 says,
• He who overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be His God and he shall be My son.
