1 Peter 2:2 says, “Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment…”
Everything grows ~ flowers, trees, babies, and most importantly, our spirits.
We are exhorted to GROW IN THE LORD. What does this look like? We’ll, it’s kind of like planting seeds in the ground ~ you water them, fertilize them, pull out the weeds, and give them enough sunlight!
What gardener has ever said, “I want a self-maintained garden”. There’s no such thing. It takes time, effort, labor, diligence, and finances! Well, the same is true in our spiritual walk. We generally eat 3 square meals a day to stay healthy and strong , so why do we think we’ll grow and be energized if we don’t do the same with spiritual food?
Praying, fellowshipping with The Lord, and and studying His Word are of upmost importance. 2 Timothy says, “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
We all have a double major, if you will ~ taking care of the essentials of life AND being diligent to GROW IN THE LORD.
So, stay strong, keep His Word first place in your life and you will continue to GROW!
Keeping Him first,
