Hi precious ones!
Ephesians 5:1 says,
- “Therefore be imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father].”
Because you and I are made in the image of God, this so something we’re always striving to do.
We can find out what the Father is like from the Scripture and from fellowshiping with Him.
In the gospels, we see that 2/3rds of Jesus ministry was healing the sick.
You may say, “I thought you said to imitate our father ~ What does that have to do with Jesus’ ministry?”
John 14:9 says,
- Jesus answered, “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.”
He also said in John 14:10,
- “Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me.”
Also, God is love and we’re to love one another (1 John 4:7). He is also rich in mercy (Eph. 2:4).
And, according to Ephesians 1:4, God is holy.
These are just some of the attributes of our Father. I encourage you to do a study about our Father so we can truly be imitators of Him as dear children!
You are so loved,
Lisa Gordon
