Hello servant of the Lord!

I love this verse from 1 Kings 18:12 (NLT).  It says,

  • “I have been A TRUE SERVANT of the Lord all of my life.”

When I was 7 years old, I had an open vision of the Lord Jesus Christ.  I was sitting in the Catholic Church and as I was looking forward, the priest disappeared and I saw myself standing to the left with my family and Jesus was on the right!  He held out His hand with a love in His eyes that I will never forget and said, “Come and follow Me.”  I let go of my daddy’s hand, grasped Jesus’ hand, smiled and waved good-bye to my family.  It wasn’t until I was born-again at the age of 17 (10 years later) that I understood the meaning of that vision.

Jesus said in Matthew 4:19,

  • “Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men.”

From that night on, I immediately began proclaiming the gospel to the lost and bringing people into the Kingdom.

I was amazed and startled when I later found these verses from Luke 14:26-27, 33,

  • 26 “If you want to be my follower you must love me more than your own father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters — yes, more than your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple. 27 And you cannot be my disciple if you do not carry your own cross and follow me.  33 So no one can become my disciple without giving up everything for me.”

Wow, so this is what Jesus meant when He said, “Follow Me!”

1 Kings 19:10 expresses my life in Christ since 1979,

  • I have zealously served the Lord God Almighty.

When I get to heaven, I only want to hear these words from my Master, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23).

Stay faithful to the One Who has called you,

Lisa Gordon
