Good morning, glorious ones!
Revelation 19:13 is one of the most remarkable verses in the Bible (to me). It says,
- He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and HIS NAME IS CALLED THE WORD OF GOD.
When I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, I attended a church that taught me the absolute importance of knowing THE WORD OF GOD. So, every time I went to church, I would take my Bible, a notebook, a pen and a highlighter. When I got home and all throughout the week, I would go over my notes and all the Scriptures my Pastor taught on. I would pray over them and ask the Lord to reveal to me what they meant. I began to learn about God’s nature and character until before long, my faith was so strengthened, I began bearing much fruit. I would endeavor to walk out what I learned from God’s Word, and as a result, God began to reveal Himself to me more powerfully.
I began to realize why THE WORD OF GOD was so important and why my teachers stressed THE WORD OF GOD so much!
John 1:1 says,
- In the beginning was THE WORD, and THE WORD was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD.
Wow! “Now I see”, I said to the Lord. GOD AND HIS WORD ARE ONE. This is how I can know God – by knowing HIS WORD.
I would also spend hours and hours praying in the Spirit, and HIS WORD would rise up on the inside of me like springs of living water. I began writing sermons and teaching this wonderful WORD OF GOD to other people.
Well, 36 years later, GOD’S WORD is still the joy and rejoicing of my heart! Because of the impact of knowing THE WORD OF GOD and learning to walk by faith and not by sight, I have been able to overcome every challenge and obstacle thus far, by the power of the Holy Spirit indwelling me, and have come out MORE than a conqueror, and VICTORIOUS in EVERY situation.
I exhort you to search the Scriptures, listen to good WORD teachers (text me and I will send you a list) and apply what you learn on a daily basis. Before long, you’ll be doing things for the Kingdom that you never dreamed possible.
Every blessing to you today,
Lisa Gordon
