Good morning beloved!
Psalm 119:2 says,
- BLESSED are those who keep His testimonies, who SEEK HIM with their WHOLE HEART.
What does it mean to SEEK HIM with your WHOLE HEART?
To seeks means:
- To inquire
- To require as a vital necessity
- To search for
- To look for
- To be on the lookout for
- To be after
- To hunt for
- To be in quest for
- To desire
- To obtain or achieve something
- To strive for
- To work hard for
- To find
We are to SEEK GOD as a priority over the things of the world.
Psalm 63:1 says,
- Oh God, You are my God; early will I SEEK You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water…
So, how are we to SEEK HIM? We SEEK HIM in HIS WORD, in PRAYER, and in WORSHIP.
Here is an example from 2 Chronicles 7:14,
- If My people who are called by My Name (that’s you) will humble themselves, pray and SEEK My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
It’s imperative that we do what Isaiah 55:6 says,
- SEEK THE LORD while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near.
When you SEEK FIRST GOD’S KINGDOM and His ways of doing and being right, you will find Him. (See Matthew 6:33 and Matthew 7:7).
Jeremiah 29:13 (NET) says,
- When you SEEK ME in prayer and worship, you will find Me available to you if you SEEK ME with ALL your heart and soul.
The New Living Translation says,
- If you look for Me WHOLEHEARTEDLY, you will find Me.
What is this Scripture saying?
Does it say SEEK HIM half-heartedly? SEEK HIM when you have some time? SEEK HIM at Church on Sunday morning and you will find Him? No, it says you will find God when you SEEK HIM with ALL YOUR HEART AND SOUL.
You are so blessed to know Him!
Continuing to SEEK HIM,
Your sister in Christ,
Lisa Gordon
