Good morning beloved!
Deuteronony 6:4-7 says,
- Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone (that is, the only One). You shall LOVE the Lord your God with all your HEART, with all your SOUL, and with all your STRENGTH. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
In this amazing passage of Scripture, the word, “LOVE” in ‘You shall love the Lord Your God’…means,
- Breath after
- Long after
- Desire
- Be intimate
This doesn’t sound like a casual relationship to me. What do you think?
Moving on, I would like to define the words, “HEART“, “SOUL“, and “STRENGTH“.
Your HEART is,
- Your emotions
- Your passions
And the word translated “SOUL” is similar in this passage. It means,
- Your emotions
- Your passions
- Your breath
- Your appetite
And lastly, the word “STRENGTH” is,
- Your force in the highest degree.
Wow, what an amazing relationship the Father wants with us. It sounds all-consuming to me.
When we LOVE God to this degree, He promises us this in Psalm 91:16,
- With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.
Psalm 73:25 declares,
- Whom have I in heaven but You? There is none on earth that I desire besides You.
The Scripture in Psalm 143:6 says,
- …My soul longs for You like a thirsty land. Selah ~ Pause, and calmly think of that!”
I love Psalm 27:4,
- ONE THING I HAVE DESIRED of the LORD, and that will I seek; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life…
I encourage you to LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD to this degree and your life will take on a whole new meaning.
Bless you precious ones,
Lisa Gordon
