Good morning beautiful ones!

How are you today?  I pray all is well!

I want to take a few moments to encourage you today on the subject of SUBMITTING TO GOD.  Submission may sound like a scary word because submission involves trust.  In our society, especially here in the east coast, people tend to be very suspicious and skeptical of trust, because they’ve been hurt by people.

I want to encourage you with this today:  GOD WILL NEVER DISAPPOINT YOU!  He is holy, perfect, and full of mercy and compassion.  He has you inscribed on the palms of His hands.  You are the apple of His eye.  He loves you unconditionally (without conditions).

I love the word, “humility”.  Sometimes I think the church doesn’t quite understand what true humility looks like.  We try with a sincere attempt to be “humble”, but true humility is to SUBMIT TO GOD.  James 4:6-7 says,

  • “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.  THEREFORE, SUBMIT TO GOD…”

This means that when God says something in His Word, no matter how foreign it may be to your thinking, you still believe it!

When God says that you have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, you say that too (2 Corinthians 5:21).  In fact, you shouldn’t dare say anything else because to do so would mean you’re disagreeing with God!  Actually, that’s the ultimate form of pride, isn’t it?

Let’s learn from God’s Word what true humility really looks like.  Let’s agree with God.  Find out what His Word has to say about you, then be bold enough to say it yourself.

It’s imperative that we banish pride by submitting to His truth.  We are to cloth ourselves in true humility (Colossians 3:12).

This is how our Lord Jesus Christ lived and walked, and if we call him, “Lord”, then we’re to follow in our Master’s footsteps, right?  Jesus says in Luke 6:46,

  • “But why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord’ and do not the things which I say?”

Philippians 2:2-8 (NLT) says,

  • 2 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.  3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.  5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

Throughout the Scriptures we can see that we are to:

  1. SUBMIT TO ONE ANOTHER (Ephesians 5:21)
  2. SUBMIT TO GOD (1 Peter 5:6)
  3. SUBMIT TO GOVERNING AUTHORITIES (Romans 13:1, Titus 3:1)
  4. SUMIT TO OUR HUSBANDS (Ephesians 5:22)
  5. SUBMIT TO THE ELDERS (1 Peter 5:5)

Doing this would not only bring healing to the Church, but we would continue to become the beautiful body He designed us to be.

“Father, I thank you for continually tranforming my readers into the image of our Lord Jesus Christ ~  That they are imitators of God as dear children.  They are not being conformed to this world, but are looking more and more like You in all they do and say.  Encourage us today and continue to teach us how to SUBMIT TO YOU and how to walk in true humility towards You and towards one another, in Jesus Name, Amen.”
