Good morning, family!

I want to share with you about  KNOWING GOD AS A FATHER.

There are many different ways that people know God:

  • They know Him as a God that is far off ~ Way out there; untouchable, somewhere in the Universe.
  • They know Him in a very formal way ~ They have this deep respect and revential fear, but don’t know Him as a loving Father.
  • They see Him as a God that is out to get them ~ They think He’s got a baseball bat looking down from heaven waiting for them to make a mistake; they know Him as an enforcer; He’s harsh and mean; there’s a pressure that they can never live up to.

These are all the wrong images of God.  The best picture we can have of God is as a Father.

A Father is someone’s that’s FOR YOU ~

Someone that helps you OVERCOME mistakes ~

Someone that CHEERS YOU ON as you pursue your life with Him ~

Someone that BELIEVES THE VERY BEST in you!

When you KNOW GOD AS A FATHER, it takes on a whole new meaning.

~ You realize that He’s not a God that’s far off ~

~ He’s not out to get you ~

~ He’s not just there to point out what you’re doing wrong ~

~ He’s there as a constant source of strength and encouragement ~

~ He’s there to lift you when you fall ~

~ To encourage you when you’re down ~

~ To push you forward when you feel like giving up ~

~ He’s the friend that sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24)

Here are a few things that God has promised you as a believer:

  • You are His (Isaiah 43:1)
  • Your times are in His hands (Psalm 31:15)
  • His thoughts towards you are precious (Psalm 139:17, 18)
  • He loves you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3)
  • He will bless you (Genesis 12:2)
  • He has placed His hand upon you (Psalm 139:5)
  • He holds you with His hand (Isaiah 41:10)
  • God is for you (Romans 8:31)
  • God will not leave you nor forsake you (Joshua 1:5)
  • God is your provider (Philippians 4:19)
  • With God, all things are possible (Mark 10:27)

“Father God, we praise you.  Thank you for giving us the gift of Your Son, Jesus!  Thank you adopting us into Your family.  We are never alone.  You are a good Father Who loves us dearly.  You do everything for us in love.  Thank you for Your kindness towards us and for taking such good care of us today.  We give you all the honor, all the praise and all the glory, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
