Good morning faith-filled ones!
There is a human faith that is built into the make-up of man and that human faith is on the level of this natural, physical world. If you’re not exercising plain, human faith, you wouldn’t even sit down on that chair you’re sitting on. Natural human faith comes from basic reasoning.
But, we are going to talk about the spiritual thing God put in you when you were born-again ~ His faith which is a supernatural, creative force.
What we do with our believing faculties is up to us. God has provided food for our spirit, our mind and our body, but He’s not going to feed us. That final decision is ours. He will show us what’s right, but it’s ultimately our decision.
See, we are releasing our faith all the time, without even realizing it ~ For example, let’s say God begins to say to you, “I need a full-time missionary in Russia and I want you to go.” You might say, “Ut-oh, Lord, I’ve been working at the post office for 19 years and I only have to stay for 1 more year to get my pension.” That man is exercising his faith in that government check, in his job. He’s exercised his faith in that job for 19 years; that’s his source of income. He’s comfortable. God asking him that just threw him sideways.
We need to release our FAITH IN GOD and in His Word; not in our jobs, our careers, etc.
We shouldn’t release our faith in people because people make mistakes; God never does.
When you HAVE FAITH IN GOD and IN HIS WORD, you are walking supernaturally, by the Spirit. Romans 8:1 says,
- There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk NOT after the flesh (our natural human reasoning), but after the Spirit.
So, to recap, FAITH is not the product of reason. It is the product of our recreated spirit. In Mark 11:27-33, the scribes reasoned and could not answer Jesus’ question.
See, if we do reason with the Lord, we must reason with Him on the Word and in the Word. Isaiah 1:18 says,
- Come now and let us reason together, saith the Lord…
We are to ONLY trust in one thing, according to Proverbs 3:5,
- TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART and lean NOT to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
See, FAITH is a substance, according to Hebrews 11:1 and God used this very same substance to form the world (Hebrews 11:3) ~
- By FAITH, we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not make of things which do appear.
Our FAITH IN GOD comes by hearing the Word of God, according to Romans 10:17.
So HAVING FAITH IN GOD means having FAITH IN HIS WORD. It’s imperative to put the Word FIRST PLACE in your life; make it the final authority in your life.
Take time to MEDITATE on God’s Word every day. Proverbs 4:20-22 says,
- 20 My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.
Make sure to ACT upon the Word of God, in other words, do what it says do. For example, when somebody hurts you, instead of retaliating, do what the Word of God says to do in Matthew 5:44,
- But I say to you, “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which spitefully use you, and persecute you…”
Lastly, don’t forget to PRAY IN THE SPRIT, according to 1 Corinthians 14:4 and Jude 20.
“Father, in Jesus’ Name, I pray for each person reading this daily word of encouragement and ask that they might be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding – that they might walk worthy of You, unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good word and increasing in the knowledge of You, strengthened with all might according to Your glorious power unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness, in Jesus’ Name and to His glory, Amen.”
