Good morning faith-filled one!
Everything depends upon our believing God! We actually can’t do anything apart from a living faith in Him. All things are possible to us in God, because God is an omnipotent God for impossible situations.
For the past 3 weeks of this brand new year, the Lord has directed me to teach for a few moments before worship on THE GOD OF THE IMPOSSIBLE to exhort our congregation. Remember this, beloved: God is not ordinary, He’s extraordinary; He can’t be measured, He’s immeasurable and abounding in everything!
I want to point your attention to Hebrews chapter 11 ~ In this chapter, we can see the phrase, “BY FAITH” mentioned at the beginning of each verse because it was BY FAITH that the patriarchs were able to overcome impossible situations.
In the very first verse of Hebrews Chapter 11, we see the definition of faith ~ it says,
- FAITH IS the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].
The Scripture declares in 4 places in the Bible that the just (the ones made righteous) shall live by faith:
- Habakkuk 2:4 says, “The just shall live by his faith.”
- Romans 1:17 says, “The just shall live by faith.”
- Galatians 3:11 says, “The just shall live by faith.”
- Hebrews 10:38 says, “The just shall live by faith.”
Four references telling us how we’re to live in the kingdom. FAITH is the law of the kingdom of God. As children of God, the WORD OF GOD is our source of faith. Romans 10:17 says,
- So then FAITH comes by hearing and hearing by the WORD OF GOD.
We are the just, and we live BY FAITH. It’s imperative that we cast down thoughts of fear and doubt and speak faith-filled words instead. When we give God’s Word first place in our lives, God will speak to us and give us specific instructions.
Proverbs 4:20-22 says,
- My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh.
We must believe the Word of God and have faith in what God says. Hebrews 11:6 says,
- Without FAITH it is impossible to please Him for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a REWARDER of those who diligently seek Him.
See, if we try to build our lives on anything else but the word of God, like on feelings, sentimental things, or imaginations, it won’t have a lasting substance. That’s because everything else except the Word of God is like sinking sand. The Scripture teaches us that nothing else will remain ~ we are told in 2 Peter 3:10 that,
- …The elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
The Word of God is eternal, forever settled in heaven. So, if we believe in God’s Word, we will be changed into His image and likeness. I love that! FAITH, OUR GREATEST INHERITANCE knows no defeat. It is always triumphant. Faith always has a good report. Faith never feels and never looks. Faith is an act. Everyone of us has more faith than we are using. So if, by FAITH, we are willing to venture out into the impossible, God will always do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think!
Living by faith,
