Good morning dear one!
As I was listening to my Bible App for the day, I came to Job chapter 28:12-28 and my spirit lept within me. So, I was impressed by the Lord to share with you today on THE WISDOM OF GOD. It says,
- “But where can WISDOM be found? And where is the place of understanding? Man does not know its value, nor is it found in the land of the living. The deep says, ‘It is not in me’; And the sea says, ‘It is not with me.’ It cannot be purchased for gold, nor can silver be weighed for its price. It cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir, in precious onyx or sapphire. Neither gold nor crystal can equal it, nor can it be exchanged for jewelry of fine gold. No mention shall be made of coral or quartz, for the price of WISDOM is above rubies. The topaz of Ethiopia cannot equal it, nor can it be valued in pure gold. “From where then does WISDOM come? And where is the place of understanding? It is hidden from the eyes of all living…And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is WISDOM, and to depart from evil is understanding.’”
Whew! Look at the value of God’s Wisdom! If you want to know about THE WISDOM OF GOD, read in particular the book of Proverbs! Let’s look at just one section from Proverbs 3:13-18,
- Happy is the man who finds wisdom,
- And the man who gains understanding;
- For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver,
- And her gain than fine gold.
- She is more precious than rubies,
- And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.
- Length of days is in her right hand,
- In her left hand riches and honor.
- Her ways are ways of pleasantness,
- And all her paths are peace.
- She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her,
- And happy are all who retain her.
So, in verse 13 we can see that our part is to find wisdom and to gain understanding from His Word. God’s part, or His benefits to us are found in verses 14-18:
- Widsom’s proceeds are better than the profits of silver and her gain than fine gold.
- Widsom is more precious than having rubies.
- All the things you can desire cannot compare to having wisdom.
- Length of days comes from having God’s wisdom.
- Riches and honor come from God’s wisdom.
- Pleasantness, peace, life and happiness comes from the Wisdom of God.
There are 2 sources of widsom that exist:
- God’s Widsom
- Worldly wisdom
Let me give you a definition of wisdom: It’s the ability to use (stored up) knowledge and make it worthwhile. Knowledge alone is not the answer. Statistics show that only 3% of men in business for themselves succeed. Many college graduates fail in their pursuits in life. See, wisdom doesn’t come from reasoning. It comes from the Word of God and is available to every believer.
So, I encourage you today that whatever you need, go to God’s Word and find the promises that fit your situation, whether it be healing, finances, help in your marriage or with your children ~ anything! I exhort you to find THE WISDOM OF GOD in the Word of God and begin to speak it out of your mouth. You will begin to see changes in your circumstances that you never dreamed possible. Remember, THE WISDOM OF GOD is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Walking in His Wisdom today,
Lisa Gordon
