Good morning dearly loved of God!
Our greatest pursuit in life should be to walk in THE LOVE OF GOD because that is the essence of Christianity.
Colossians 3:12-14 says,

  • 12 Clothe yourselves therefore, as God’s own chosen ones (His own picked representatives), [who are] purified and holy and well-beloved [by God Himself, by putting on behavior marked by] tenderhearted pity and mercy, kind feeling, a lowly opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, [and] patience [which is tireless and long-suffering, and has the power to endure whatever comes, with good temper].
  • 13 Be gentle and forbearing with one another and, if one has a difference (a grievance or complaint) against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has [freely] forgiven you, so must you also [forgive].
  • 14 And above all these [put on] love and enfold yourselves with the bond of perfectness [which binds everything together completely in ideal harmony].

When you cloth yourself with THE LOVE OF GOD, you cloth yourself with holiness, mercy, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering, forbearance and forgiveness. Walking in THE LOVE OF GOD is the bond of perfection or completeness. Walking in THE LOVE OF GOD will help us cultivate all the elements of the fruit of the Spirit.
Ephesians 3:17 tells us that we must,

  • Be rooted and grounded in love…

Only then will be able to do what Luke 6:27 says,

  • “But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.

When you’re walking in THE LOVE OF GOD, rather than retaliating against your enemy, you will be able to speak a blessing over the person cursing you and pray for his or her happiness.
See, we don’t want to defend ourselves when we’re mistreated. The Scripture declares in Romans 12:19,

  • Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

When we walk in THE LOVE OF GOD, the Scripture states in Romans 13:10 that,
LOVE is the fulfillment of the law.

It not only fulfills the law, it’s a commandment from God. John 15:12 says,

  • This is My commandment, that you LOVE one another as I have LOVED you.

It’s imperative that we not allow anything to separate us from THE LOVE OF GOD. Romans 8:35-39 says,

  • 35 Who shall ever separate us from Christ’s love? Shall suffering and affliction and tribulation? Or calamity and distress? Or persecution or hunger or destitution or peril or sword?
  • 36 Even as it is written, For Thy sake we are put to death all the day long; we are regarded and counted as sheep for the slaughter.
  • 37 Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.
  • 38 For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers,
  • 39 Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Walking in THE LOVE OF GOD will teach us how to overcome adversity. Remaining in THE LOVE OF GOD will enable us to conquer eveything that comes to try to defeat us.
Remember this family, LOVE covers or prevents a multitude of sins (See 1 Peter 4:8). When you walk in THE LOVE OF GOD, you’ll walk in the light as He is in the light.
“Father, I bless my brothers and sisters today. I ask that you help us to see that THE LOVE OF GOD has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit and what LOVE is. It endures long and is patient and kind; it’s never envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. We decide to walk in THE LOVE OF GOD today, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
