Good morning family!

Did you ever notice how doubt and unbelief is easily detected in our speech?  The words we say indicate whether we are believing the Word of God or not.  If we want to grow our faith and starve our doubts, we must begin to CONFESS THE WORD OF GOD.  Our confession not only increases our faith, but it also helps boost someone else’s faith.  For example, we can preach the Word of God to someone or give a testimony that will cause others to want to know Jesus.

CONFESSION is stating something we believe in our hearts.  It’s testifying to the truth we have accepted.  Our CONFESSION increases our faith because it gives evidence to something we know is true.  If our CONFESSION is wrong, then our believing is wrong.  If our believing is wrong, then our thinking is wrong.  If our thinking is wrong, it’s because we have failed to renew our minds to the Word of God.  To renew our minds means to exchange our thoughts for God’s thoughts.  Reading, studying, meditating, and knowing the Word of God changes the way we think.

Here are 5 things that we should CONFESS:

  1. We should CONFESS the Word concerning what God has done for us in the plan of redemption.  For example, we have been redeemed (bought back or delivered from) poverty, sickness, sin, spiritual death, etc.
  2. We should CONFESS what God has done in us through His Word and His Spirit
  3. We should CONFESS who we are to the Father through Christ Jesus.  We are the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus.  We are sanctified through Christ Jesus.  We are redeemed through Christ Jesus.
  4. We should CONFESS what Jesus is accomplishing for us right now at the right hand of the Father.  Jesus is making intercession for us, therefore, we have protection, and all is well with us.
  5. We should CONFESS what God can accomplish through us.  We can do all things through Christ Who strengthens us.

So, what then does our CONFESSION accomplish?  The CONFESSION of our faith can cause others to give their lives to the Lord.  When we give testimony of what God has done for us, that person may become interested in the Gospel.

Jesus gave us the Great Commission ~ to go and preach the Gospel to everyone (Mark 16:15-20).  God works through us when we carry to Gospel of salvation to the lost.  The Word has to be preached and then signs and wonders will follow the Word that is preached.

CONFESSION dispels fear.  Fear will always produce the thing we fear the most.  This is what Job 3:25 declares,

  • For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I dreaded has happened to me.

Satan attacks our thinking with fearful thoughts.  He wants us to fear that God’s Word won’t work.  We must capture fearful thoughts by speaking the Word out loud.  2 Corinthians 10:5 says,

  • Casting down arguments, reasonings, imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Fear will hinder the operation of our faith.  Be encourage, because you never know how close you are to the manifestation of God’s promises.

Remember, God gives us reasons not to fear.  In Isaiah 41:10 He declares,

  • Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Did you know that Jesus told us 365 times in the Bible to fear not, be not afraid or similar phrases?  If you’re having trouble with fearful thoughts, CONFESS these Scriptures from the Word of God:

  1. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27).
  2. “Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).
  3. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own (Matthew 6:34).
  4. But now, this is what the LORD says ~ He Who created you…He Who formed you…”Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are Mine” (Isaiah 43:1).

The list goes on and on.  Family, God’s Word works and it never fails.

CONFESSING THE WORD OF GOD over you today,
