Good morning dearly beloved!
THE WORD is God Himself. John 1:1 says,
- In the beginning was THE WORD and THE WORD was with God and THE WORD was God.
All our hope is in THE WORD OF THE LIVING GOD! As a matter of fact, the Scripture declares in Hebrews 6:19 that by two immutable things (His promise and His oath, we might have strong consolation to lay hold of the hope set before us. And this hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.
When our souls (our mind, will, and emotions) are anchored in the Lord Jesus Christ (in His Word), we won’t be blown by the wind and waves of life.
When my family and I go to Clearwater Beach in Florida, I love to lay on my raft in the ocean, tied to an anchor, praying in the Holy Spirit. The Lord always brings Scriptures to my heart and one time, He reminded me that without that anchor, I would be pummeled by the waves and taken out to sea. This is exactly what our faith in the Lord Jesus is like. He’s our strong foundation, so that we can be immovable and not drift away.
Isaiah 40:8 declares this,
- The grass withers and the flower face, but THE WORD OF GOD stands forever.
Let’s never compare THIS BOOK with other books. There’s no comparison. GOD’S WORD is alive and full of power, according to Hebrews 4:12. GOD’S WORD is from heaven. Before Jesus came to the earth, He was THE WORD OF GOD (Revelation 19:13).
We are told in Ephesians 6:10-18 to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might and to put on the whole armor of God so that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Paul goes on to tell us to take the sword of the Spirit, which is THE WORD OF GOD. All the other armor is defensive. THE WORD OF GOD is offensive. This means that you attack the enemy with THE WORD OF THE LIVING GOD.
Jesus said to the devil in Matthew 4:4,7,10:
- “IT IS WRITTEN…”
If our Lord Jesus used THE WORD OF THE LIVING GOD against our enemy, why would we do any differently? Jesus is our example. 1 Peter 2:21 says,
- …Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in His steps.
I will always be eternally grateful to my teachers, especially Kenneth Copeland, who is a father in the faith because he taught me the vital necessity of studying, meditating, and doing the Word of God. He taught me that I was not only to be a hearer to the Word, but a doer also. So, when I saw Jesus do something in His Word, I followed Him, to the best of my ability. When I’d see Jesus praying for the sick, I would do the same. When I read in Acts 1:8 that I would receive power after the Holy Spirit comes upon me and I would be a witness to the ends of the earth, I believed it! When I read in Acts 2:4 that when I was filled with the Holy Spirit I would begin to speak in other tongues, I believed it and received it. It’s been one of the greatest blessings in my life next to THE LIVING WORD OF GOD.
Walking in HIS LIVING WORD,
