Good morning beloved!
The Bible is the spiritual roadmap for our lives, but the devil will do anything he can to keep us from believing what’s in it. One way to defeat his efforts is to PRAY IN TONGUES. SPEAKING IN TONGUES is talking directly to God, and it’s a foreign language to anyone operating in the natural. Because we don’t use our intellectual mind when we SPEAK IN TONGUES, it serves as a tool to keep the enemy from understanding what we’re saying, rendering him powerless to interfere.
Jesus commanded His disciples to preach the Gospel everywhere, and those who believed would be saved. The signs of a true believer would include SPEAKING IN TONGUES, picking up serpents, and healing the sick. After Jesus ascended into heaven, He continued working with the disciples (see Mark 16:15-20). As believers, these signs are manifested through the Holy Spirit and they will follow us everywhere.
Pentacost was the manifestation of the Spirit that Jesus had promised. When the believers were filled with the Holy Spirit and began SPEAKING IN TONGUES, others mocked them and said they were drunk (see Acts 2:1-4, 13). Previously, Jesus had told His disciples He could not tell them in person everything He needed to share with them, but the Holy Spirit, Who glorifies Jesus, would reveal everything to them (see John 16:12-15).
When we SPEAK IN TONGUES or PRAY IN THE SPIRIT, it’s a direct connection to God. God prophesied through Isaiah of the signs and wonders that were to happen. These signs would involve the children of God, and would take place through the Holy Spirit (see Isaiah 8:18).
When we SPEAK IN TONGUES, we bypass our intellectual minds. SPEAKING IN TONGUES has so many wonderful benefits. Isaiah 28:11-12 says,
- For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people, To whom He said, “This is the rest with which You may cause the weary to rest”, and “This is the refreshing.”
So there’s a true rest and a refreshing to us when we PRAY or SPEAK IN TONGUES. Also, when we SPEAK IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE, we speak to God. No one understands it, and in the Spirit, that person speaks mysteries (see 1 Corinthians 14:2). We can’t intellectually grasp what is being said, or catch its meaning, because the person utters secret truths and hidden things.
When we SPEAK IN TONGUES, we are pulling from a spiritual supply. Romans 8:26-27 tells us that the Holy Spirit helps us when we don’t know how or what to pray. He searches our hearts, intercedes for us, and knows the mind of God.
Also, the Holy Spirit will reveal the things God has prepared for us, that no one has seen or heard, by His Spirit, Whom we have received.
Lastly, Jude 1:20 tells us that we build ourselves up on our most holy faith when we PRAY IN THE HOLY SPIRIT.
I exhort you to SPEAK IN TONGUES as often as you can. You will find yourselves growing by leaps and bounds in the Spirit.
Continuing to PRAY IN TONGUES,
