Hello holy ones!
Matthew 11:28-30 (AMPC) says,
- COME TO ME, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]. Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest (relief, ease, refreshment, recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.
I think sometimes in our stress-filled world, we tend to turn to everything BUT GOD! It seems so much easier to turn on the television than it is to go to a quiet place, close our eyes and begin to seek the Lord. It takes self-control to do this, but I want to encourage you today and say, “You can do it! Self-control is in you – it’s one of the fruit of the Holy Spirit, Who resides in you!”
See, you are a spirit being and the only way you will find the rest and the satisfaction you’re looking for is in COMING TO HIM.
Hebrews 4:9-10 tells us,
- There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For He who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
We’re told in John 4:24 that,
- God is a spirit; and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth.
Matthew 6:6 tells us how we COME TO GOD,
- “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut the door, pray to your Father Who is in the secret place; and your Father Who sees in secret will reward you openly.”
So, not only will we find rest for our lives when we COME TO HIM, but God will reward us openly! We’re not to fret. Psalm 37:7 says we’re to,
- Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him…
And look at the reward to those who COME TO HIM – Psalm 16:9, 11 says,
- “Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh also will rest in hope…You will show me the path of life; In your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
I encourage you to seek the Lord while He may be found. COME TO HIM! Jesus cries out to us and says in John 7:37,
- “If anyone thirsts, let him COME TO ME and drink.”
“Father, we do COME TO YOU boldly, in the Name of Jesus, to Your throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of need. We know that because we’ve COME TO YOU, we will find rest for our lives; true rest and freedom in You; rest from our labors. We love You, Father! In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.”
Continuing to COME TO HIM,
