Good morning, family!
I can’t tell you how pleased I am to share the Word of God with you today!
Matthew 16:18 says,
- And I (Jesus) also say to you that you are Peter (small rock ~ “Petras”) and on this (massive) Rock, (JESUS), I will build My Church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
It is upon this Rock that God is building us up in our faith, so that we can live in great expectation.
It is so important that every day we are laying some new foundation that can never be uprooted.
In verses 15-16 of Matthew 16, Jesus said to them,
- “But WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM?” Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.”
Beloved, do you know Him today? Has this revelation come to your heart? Do you call Him Lord? Do you find comfort in the fact that He is yours? “Who do YOU say He is?”
Jesus knew what was in their thoughts before He asked them. This makes me long to be so true before God. I always ask the Lord to search me and know my heart, to try me and know my thoughts. I ask if there is any wicked way in me, to remove it and lead me in the way everlasting. I always ask the Lord to forgive me for anything I may have done wrong. Say, “Father, in the Name of Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit, I put a guard over my mouth and keep watch at the door of my lips. I declare that I will not let any unwholesome words ever proceed out of my mouth, but only such words that will minister grace to the hearers.”
Jesus goes on to say in Matthew 16:17,
- “Blessed are you, Simon-Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in heaven.”
If you call Jesus your Lord this morning, it is by the Holy Spirit. There should be a deep response within us today that says, “You are the living Christ.” When we can say this from our hearts, this is proof that we are not born of flesh and blood, but of the Spirit of the Living God.
So, if you want to know what real success is in life, it’s having this knowledge that “Jesus is the Christ”. Upon this revelation, God will build His Church and the gates of hell won’t be able to prevail against it.
Verse 19 says,
- “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
This is the life of faith that we have come into. It’s because of this Rock foundation that we have this living faith, and that foundation cannot be overthrown. He has given us the power to bind and loose, hallelujah!
I want you to go away into your day today knowing that you are on this Rock foundation and able to bind and loose, and when you have this living faith, you can know that when you pray, you know you have the answer because of God’s promises. Jesus said, “If you believe, all things are possible!” It’s on this Rock foundation that our faith must be based, and this will never fail. God has established it forever.
Walking in the living Christ,
