Hello called ones!
Ephesians 4:1 says,
- Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of YOUR CALLING, for you have been called by God.
Brothers and sisters, it’s a great thing to be called by God. YOU have been called by God! Answering the call to become a minister of the gospel has been the greatest fulfillment of my life. Handling the Word of Life is the greatest choice you can make.
When you answer God’s calls upon your life, you should always have a deep reverence towards God and His Word under all circumstances. We must rightly divide the Word of Truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 says,
- Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the Word of Truth.
Whatever we are doing in life, as believers, we must remember this: Romans 10:15 says,
- And how shall they preach unless they are sent?…How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Whether we are called into the 5-fold ministry or not, 2 Timothy 4:5 says,
- But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.
As believers, we have been called to preach the unsearchable riches of Christ. We are spiritual children today, not only natural children. 1 John 3:2 says,
- Beloved, NOW we are the children of God…
We don’t want to be like the Galatian Church! After they heard the Word of God, Paul says in Galatians 1:6-7,
- I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who CALLED YOU to Himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ.
I exhort you that once you come into the Spirit, don’t go back into the flesh. We are told in Galatians 5:16-17, 25:
- Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh, for the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish…If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
In our Sunday morning church service, we always encourage the congregation to give testimony, to pray over the offering, to ask questions afterwards, etc. We love to give the people the opportunity to grow in the Lord. We love to hear the bleating of the lambs. Sometimes the only way you can discover what’s in you is to be given the chance to minister.
So, whether you are called into the 5-fold ministry or not, God has established a path for your life and He wants you to seek Him to find out what He wants you to do.
Jeremiah 1:5 says that God knew you before you were formed in your mother’s womb, and He set you apart for a specific purpose. God chose you to be here at this time! You have been CALLED BY GOD for a purpose and your purpose is to discover and pursue God’s plan for your life at all costs (Romans 8:29). As a child of God, your purpose is certain (1 Corinthians 9:26). It’s the will of God for you to be conformed into the image of Christ. You do this by renewing your mind to the Word of God. Remain grounded in the Word of God, and allow it to affect your thinking more than worldly influences. See, when you know and understand YOUR CALLING and purpose, God will equip you with the power necessary to fulfill your specific purpose.
Be encouraged in YOUR CALLING because God loves you dearly and promises you this in Jeremiah 29:11-14,
- “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the Lord.
Walking in His calling,
