Good morning hearing ones!
I want to encourage you today to do everything based on the Word of God. Develop a good stronghold based on the Word of God (see2 Corinthians 10:3-6). Always receive the implanted Word, which James tells us, is able to save our souls (see James 1:21). Let His Word correct you because the Lord wants to rescue you. The Word is the answer to any problem you may be facing in your life.
Also, be aware of what you are tuned in to. Do not allow worry to dominate your mind. Instead, do what Romans 12:2 tells you to do,
- Be transformed by the renewing of your mind…
And, Joshua 1:8 tells us what we are to be thinking about. It says to,
- Meditate continually on the Word of God ~ night and day!
I exhort you to have EARS TO HEAR. Isaiah 55:8-9 says,
- For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.
Let us always have EARS TO HEAR and not itching ears, like 2 Timothy 4:3-4 declares. It says,
- For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers and will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
I want to encourage you that anyone can have EARS TO HEAR. It is up to you to choose to listen to God’s Word. There are a million things vying for your attention, but Proverbs 4:20-22 says,
- My son, give attention to My Words; incline your ear to My sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.
Although it is of the utmost importance that we HAVE EARS TO HEAR the Word of God, James 1:22 says,
- But don’t just listen to God’s Word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.
On purpose, obey the Word and do what it tells you to do. This is what being a disciple means ~ a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, which means doing what His Word tells us to do. Try hard not to make excuses, but just line your life up with the Word. Do not try to change the Word to fit your lifestyle, but let your lifestyle be changed by the Word.
Let’s crave the Word, like 1 Peter 2:2 tells us to. It says,
- …As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby.
Let us choose not to think the way the world thinks. Let God transform your life. Be imitators of God as dear children. Learn from the Lord Jesus Christ. Afterall, He is our prototype.
HAVING EARS TO HEAR,
