Good morning glorious ones!
Our MINDS are where the spiritual battles are won or lost. We do not have to allow Satan to defeat us through a defeated MENTALITY. Instead, we can TAME OUR THOUGHTS and make them line up with God’s Word. We ultimately have victory over Satan; however, the only way we can take possession of our victory is by renewing our minds with the Word of God.
Colossians 3:1-2 (Amp) says,
- If then you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. And SET YOUR MINDS and keep themset on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth.
In this above Scripture, to “set your mind” refers to your mentality. See, nothing changes in our lives until our thinking changes. We are the sum total of what we think (see Proverbs 23:7). Satan strategizes to keep us from fulfilling God’s will for our lives.
Many times, when we feel depressed, rejected, or condemned, we are focused only on ourselves. We are responsible for keeping our minds on those things that agree with God’s Word. Philippians 4:8 (Amp) says,
- Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and loveable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, THINK ON and weigh and take account of these things [fix your MINDS on them].
God’s Word gives us peace when we keep our minds on Him. This is what Isaiah 26:3 says,
- You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You because he trusts in You.
This word “peace” comes from the Hebrew word, “shalom”, which means wholeness in every area of life. Remember, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 states,
- For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations, arguments, reasonings, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
I exhort you to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (see Ephesians 6:10-12). Put on the whole armor of God. The armor of God is His Word. The Word of God is a weapon against negative, opposing thoughts.
Renewing my mind to His Word,
