Good morning family!
In Joshua chapter 1, God gave very specific instructions to Joshua about how to secure success, prosperity and victory over every adversary. He said in verses 8-9,
- Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night, so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is My command – be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
God instructed Joshua to MEDITATE ON HIS WORDday and night so it would fill his heart, mind, and mouth. Then, He commands Joshua to be strong and courageous. Can you see the connection? Until Joshua’s mind and mouth only thought and spoke God’s Word, Joshua could not have any hope of being strong and courageous!
Right from the beginning, God made it a priority to address the issue of Joshua’s mind. The same holds true for us today. God said that no other instructions or strategies would take precedence over what occupied Joshua’s thoughts.
MEDITATING ON THE WORD OF GOD is the key to our success and prosperity in life. Those who MEDITATE ON THE WORD are the ones who will get the most out of it. Your prayers and confessions should flow out of your meditation. As you become rooted in the Word of God, your trust will be in God alone and not in your own ability.
According to Jeremiah 17:5, the person who trusts in himself and his own ability will be like a dried up shrub in the desert, but the person who trusts in the Lord is empowered to prosper.
MEDITATING ON GOD’S WORD will lead to increase. In Genesis 24:63 we read,
- Isaac went out to MEDITATE in the fields in the evening; and he lifted up his eyes and looked, and there, the camels were coming.
When we MEDITATE ON GOD’S WORD, we will profit and prosper, just like our forefathers did. God is no respector of persons. He is the LORD and He changes not.
Meditating on God’s Word,
