Hello beautiful ones!
The world has many ways of thinking and many different philosophies, but not all of these are in line with God’s Word. It has developed its own peculiar sets of values and standards, but because Satan is the god of this world (see 2 Corinthians 4:4). LETTING DOWN OUR GUARD leaves us open to the high thoughts of this world, which can take over and hijack the thoughts of God. We will run into trouble when we begin to trust in our own thoughts and emotions instead of God’s Word concerning our lives.
It is so important that we are careful in regards to what we think. Thoughts and concepts are pervasive and powerful. Colossians 2:8 (AMPC) tells us that we should be on guard for deceit and any philosophies that go against God’s Word.
Family, we are in a spiritual war. We should not let ourselves be carried off as spoil or made captive by intellectualism or nonsense. We all have a philosophy, whether we know it or not. A philosophy is a basic set of ideas, beliefs, and values that we live by. Our philosophy effects how we view life and the decisions we make. Do not be robbed by the traditions of men. Instead, view your lives through God’s Word.
Many people cannot understand the preaching of the cross of Christ and will consider this message foolish. 1 Corinthains 1:18-19 (AMPC) says,
- For the story and message of the cross is sheer absurdity and folly to those who are perishing and on their way to perdition, but to us who are being saved it is the [manifestation of] the power of God. For it is written, I will baffle and render useless and destroy the learning of the learned and the philosophy of the philosophers and the cleverness of the clever and the discernment of the discerning; I will frustrate and nullify [them] and bring [them] to nothing.
God has promised to destroy the world’s wisdom. He will make the wisdom of the world come to nothing. The world’s philosophers will not be able to fathom God’s wisdom, and this will be marvelous to many people (see Isaiah 29:14-16, AMP).
See, heaven’s wisdom and knowledge is different than man’s. God’s wisdom is meek, with no bitterness, strife, or envy. It is pure and peaceful, merciful, and gentle, and it descends from above (see James 3:13-17). If we follow our own thoughts and wishes instead of seeking God’s will, we will fall prey to secular humanism.
True wisdom and insight does not go against God. Proverbs 21:30 says,
- No human wisdom or understanding or plan can stand against the Lord.
The Holy Spirit teaches us His wisdom, which transcends man’s earthly wisdom (see 1 Corinthians 2:13).
