Hello dear ones!
We have all spoken jokingly or playfully at one time or another, but how differently would we speak if we truly believed in our words? Statements like, “That makes me sick”, or “This is what kills me…”, would quickly disappear from our lips. What I exhort you to do today is to put GOD’S WORD ON YOUR LIPS, and say things like, “By Jesus’ stripes, I am healed”, or “God wishes above all things that I prosper and be in health, just as my soul prospers”.
Whether people choose to believe it or not, WORDS HAVE POWER! For the origin of this power, let’s begin with the source, GOD!
Throughout the pages of Genesis, the book of beginnings, there runs a central and constant theme: GOD SPOKE and a corresponding action or manifestation took place. For example, Genesis 1:3 says,
- And God SAID, “Let there be light: and there was light.”
So, everything we can see and even cannot see, like oxygen and electricity, originate from the VOICE OF GOD – even you and I!
Mankind was made in God’s image and in the image of the WORD OF GOD, Who was present with God when creation occurred. Genesis 1:26 (MSG) says,
• Let us make human beings in Our image, make them reflecting Our nature.
More importantly, we do not just look like God, we are like God! Jesus said in John 10:34 (MSG),
- “I’m only quoting your inspired Scriptures, where God said, ‘I tell you – you are gods'”.
That means we possess within us God-like qualities, such as the ability of love and even the ability to create through the power of speech. We can see examples of such life-changing occurrences throughout the Bible. Here are a few:
1. Proverbs 18:21 (MSG) says, “Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit – you choose.”
2. Mark 11:23 (NKJV) says, “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea’, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”
3. Mark 5:41-42 (NKJV) says, “Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, ‘Talith cumi’, which is translated, ‘Little girl, I say to you, arise.’ Immediately the girl arose and walked…”
4. Isaiah 55:11 (MSG) says, “So will the words that come out of My mouth not come back empty-handed. They’ll do the work I sent them to do; they’ll complete the assignment I gave them.”
Any of these is powerful enough to change your circumstances or your life! The Bible contains so many instances of how powerful God’s Word is! Look at it this way: The Bible is a book of seeds – Word seeds, but seeds will not do you any good sitting in your shed – they need to be planted, watered, fertilized, and harvested.
Because God’s creative power is within us all, it is so important that we consciously choose the words we speak. Words have consequences. Through what you say, you have the ability to bring to pass either good or evil. In addition to this, words are spiritual containers that can produce physical things. All they need in order to reproduce is the fertile ground of a believing heart.
As a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, there is authority available to you through the words you speak in the Name of Jesus. When we pray to the Father, we pray in Jesus’ Name and He backs what we say, when it agrees with what His Word says.
Realize today that the Word of God is alive and powerful. Because of this, you can speak it with confidence over your finances, your family, your job, or anything else that concerns you. You can boldly declare for your body to be healed. You can call into existence well-behaved children, a spouse, a job – whatever you need! When THE WORD OF GOD IS ON OUR LIPS and in our hearts, along with the dynamic power of the Name of Jesus, you can rearrange your whole life. Change will come. Expect it!
Declaring God’s Word today,
