Good evening steadfast ones!
In Acts 2:42 we read,
They CONTINUED STEADFASTLY in the apostle’s doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
It is so important that we CONTINUE STEADFASTLY in these things, too! In our church services, this is what we follow. We only do what we see from the Word of God.
For example, because 1 Corinthians 12:1 says, “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant”, we always operate in the gifts. I believe there are a lot of weakness in the Church today because of an ignorance concerning the Holy Spirit and the gifts He came to bring. We want to be sure we do not settle down and become stagnant concerning spiritual gifts. Let us constantly stir ourselves up to receive all that God has.
It is imperative that we earnestly desire the best gifts. It is a serious thing to have the baptism of the Holy Spirit and yet be stationary. If we live even 2 days in a row in the same place, it is a tragedy. Let us be willing to deny ourselves and receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit. This is what will satisfy God and nothing less should satisfy us.
Family, there is power, blessing, assurance, and rest in the presence of the Holy Spirit. I exhort you not to let one hour go by where you are not experiencing the inner knowledge of His presence. When God’s presence is on you, there will not be any failure.
God has so graciously grafted us into the olive tree where the Jews were broken off. His purpose in doing this was so that we could bring the Gospel to all nations and receive the power of the Holy Spirit in order to accomplish this task. It was His mercy that turned Him to the Gentiles and made us partakers of all the blessings that belonged to the Jews; and under this canopy of glory, we get all the blessings of faithful Abraham.
In these last days, there are many evil, deceiving spirits sent forth that endeavor to rob Jesus of His Lordship and His rightful place. There are so many cults that deny the fundamental truths of God’s Word. The most important thing is to make Jesus Lord. When we exalt Him, giving Him the pre-eminent place, and magnify Him as both Lord and Savior, we can never go wrong. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, our one desire is to magnify Him. It’s so important that we be filled with the Holy Spirit so we can get the full revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ.
God’s command is for us to be filled with the Spirit. Let us continue to be filled so that our cup is overflowing all the time. It is a tragedy when we are not living in the fullness of overflowing. See that you never live below the overflowing tide.
It is so wonderful to be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit and for Him to fulfill His purposes through us. It is an inward power which is manifested outwardly.
So, as you CONTINUE STEADFASTLY in the things of God, there will flow from within you rivers of living water. The Holy Spirit will flow through you like a great river of life and thousands will be blessed because you are yielded to God.
CONTINUING STEADFASTLY in the things of God,
