Hello beautiful ones!
2 Corinthians 11:3 says,
• Yet I fear that somehow, as the serpent deluded (deceived, seduced) Eve through His craftiness, that your minds would be corrupted through THE SIMPLICITY THAT IS IN CHRIST.
Family, we are living in a corrupt world. Paul was warning the church of Corinth so that their minds wouldn’t be damaged from the state of knowledge and holiness in which it ought to abide.
Do you remember how Paul said in Galatians 3:1,
• O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth?
Later, in chapter 5 verse 1 he says,
• Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made you free, and do not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Jesus Christ came to set us free from sin (sinning). As believers, we are not to be conformed to this corrupt world, but we are to model our lives after the Lord Jesus.
In Colossians 2:8 we read,
• See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception [pseudo-intellectual babble], according to the tradition [and musings] of mere men, following the elementary principles of this world rather than following [the truth – the teachings of] Christ.
We tend to be seeing more and more of this world infiltrating Christianity. We should never let corruption, which is a scheme from Satan, to cause us to lose THE SIMPLICITY THAT IS IN CHRIST. Let us not continue to make excuses, though corruption is all around us. I exhort you to walk by the Spirit and as the Scriptures says, you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). We must continue to grow in the LORD. We want to put off our old self! Ephesians 4:22-23 says,
• …that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind…
It is imperative more than ever that above everything else, we guard our hearts, because from them flow the springs of life (Proverbs 4:23). Also in the very next verse (Proverbs 4:24), we read,
• Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
It is so important that we watch what we say. 2 Timothy 2:16-17 says,
• But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase more ungodliness. And their message will spread like cancer.
The Word of God tells us in Revelation 12:10 that Satan is an accuser of the brethren. I have seen Satan beat up more Christians than I care to admit. Countless believers are living in defeat because they have been deceived like Eve in the garden of Eden. The enemy deceived them and caused them to believe and live a lie.
It is imperative that we renew our minds to the Word of God and begin thinking like God thinks. We do not want to be deceived or seduced like Eve through satan’s craftiness. He corrupts our thinking to believe lies instead of the truth of the Word of God.
I exhort you to meditate on God’s Word every day. Listen to good Word teachers and do not forget to pray in the Spirit which builds you up on your most holy faith.
I love you and am praying for you today,
Lisa Gordon
