Good morning disciples of the Lord!

Hebrews 11:1 (Amplified) says,

• Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is revealed to the senses].

Everything in the life of a believer depends on our BELIEVING GOD’S WORD.  We are saved because God’s Word tells us so, not because we “feel” saved.

Did you know that Romans 14:23 states,

• Everything that is not of faith is sin.

Faith in God, which is having faith in what He says in His Word, is what makes us “believers”. We choose to believe what God says as opposed to what the world says. Sometimes this can be hard, because everything in us is screaming to the contrary. But that is okay, because as we continue to renew our minds to the Word of God, we will yield more and more and Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30,

• Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

See, to BELIEVE GOD’S WORD means to believe apart from what our minds or our five physical senses can comprehend. In other words, our spirit man believes beyond what is seen with our natural eyes. Our spirits are designed to BELIEVE THE WORD OF GOD despite what circumstances indicate. Therefore, the first step in BELIEVING GOD’S WORD is to feed our spirits with the WORD OF GOD. Jesus tells us in Matthew 4:4,

• It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

In the Scripture, Jesus was referring to the spirit of man, which is the core of who we are; our spirits live by the WORD OF GOD.  Physical food keeps our physical bodies alive; however, our spirit man (or our inner man) cannot survive without the WORD.

The “heart” of man is the spirit of man.  Therefore, we must trust God with our hearts.  Proverbs 3:5-7 says,

• Trust in the Lord with all your HEART, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.  Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil.

Our physical bodies are designed to believe our senses. However our spirits are designed to BELIEVE THE WORD OF GOD. God and His Word are one, so when we BELIEVE HIS WORD, we believe Him! Therefore, believing with our spirits is what our senses detect. We must decide to BELIEVE GOD (with our spirits) every day, even in the face of apparent defeat.

I exhort you to watch the words you speak because your words feed your spirits.  Ephesians 4:29 says,

• Do not let (any) unwholesome [foul, profane, worthless, vulgar] words ever come out of your mouth, but only such speech as is good for building up others, according to the need and the occasion, so that it will be a blessing to those who hear [you speak].

See, the words we speak (either positive or negative) deposit either good or bad into our spirits.  When we speak words that are corrupt or negative, Ephesians 4:30 says that it grieves the Holy Spirit that dwells within us.

Saying what we BELIEVE FROM THE WORD OF GOD produces great results.

Matthew 17:20 says,

• So Jesus said to them “…For assuredly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Spiritual things manifest into physical things when we speak faith-filled words, and the more highly developed we become in our faith in God’s Word, the quicker we will see results.

I exhort you to BELIEVE GOD’S WORD above everything else. He will lead you into victory every day!

Victoriously yours,

Lisa Gordon
