Hi everyone!

I wanted to spend a few minutes with you today to encourage you in regards to KNOWING THE WILL OF GOD.

Let us pray and release our faith:

“Father, in the Name of Jesus, we join together in prayer asking for Your perfect will in our lives – to learn Your right ways about everything. Show us how to live, how to walk, and how to please You in all we do. Give us ears to hear, eyes to see, and hearts to understand Your glorious Word to us this morning, in the Mighty Name of Jesus we pray, Amen.”

If you would turn with me to Hebrews 11:1 – this verse tells us what faith is. It is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Young’s literal translation says it like this: Faith is of things hoped for, a confidence, of matters not seen; a conviction…

The word confidence, faith, and boldness have all been used interchangeable. It is the same Greek word. This word confidence backs all the way up to chapter 3:14 – it talks about holding fast our confidence to the end. He talks about holding fast to our confidence without wavering in Hebrews 10:23. Then in the 35th verse, we are told not to cast away our confidence because it has great recompense of reward. It will pay off if you do not stop believing God. Hold on to that confidence.

Verse 36 continues saying, “For you have need of patience (endurance, persistence), so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.

Verse 38 goes on to say, “Now the just shall live by faith, but if any man draw back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him.”

What is this drawing back? We can see in chapter 11, verse 6 that without faith, it is impossible to please God. So, if you draw back, God is not pleased. He is talking about the same thing. Being confident and then not being confident. Stepping forward boldly and then getting discouraged and stepping back.

We have all heard the phrase people use and it goes like this: “Just let go and let God.” Well, if you mean let go of anxiety, fear and worry and trust God, then that is good. But a lot of times, that is not what people are talking about. They are describing drawing back. They are describing backing off, quitting, and leaving it all up to God. Well, that sounds religious, but it is not what the Lord wants.

Ephesians 5:17 tells us what the Lord wants for us! It says,

“Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is”.

Then we are exhorted in Colossians 1:9 with these words, “…To ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.”

Romans 12:2 tells us how to do this! It says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the entire renewal of your minds. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect”.

Hallelujah!

Being renewed in the spirit of my mind,
