Greetings, Family!
Matthew 7:7 (LEV) says,
- Continually MAKE YOUR REQUESTS TO GOD, and what you’re asking for shall continually be given you…
The parable Jesus gives us about the persistent widow in Luke 18:1-6 describes this perfectly:
- 18 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, 2 saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. 3 Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ 4 And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, 5 yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’” 6 Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said.
I love the Lord! He is so gracious and kind. Not only did He die for us while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8), but He richly gives us all things to enjoy (1 Timothy 6:17 & Romans 8:32).
Jesus says another remarkable thing in John 14:13-14,
- 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
Wow!!! What an amazing promise from an amazing God! He’s such a good Father! Jesus tells us in John 5:19,
- Truly, truly I say to you, the Son can do nothing of His own unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son does in like manner.
We are exhorted by Paul in Philippians 4:6 to:
- 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God…
Remember, Jesus promises that if we continually MAKE OUR REQUESTS TO GOD, then what we’re asking for will continually be given to us.
The icing on top of the cake (umm…cake), is one of my all-time favorite verses. It’s from 1 John 5:14-15
- 14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
Isn’t it comforting to know that we can be confident that whatever we ask according to the will (Word) of God, will be given to us?
What a loving God! Who wouldn’t want to serve Him?
“Father, we love and appreciate you so much. Thank you for everything You’ve done for us and everything You’ve given to us! You so loved us that you gave…
We bless You, Father, in Jesus Name, Amen.”
