Good morning glorious ones!
When you confessed Jesus as the Lord of your lives, you inherited all of the promises in the Word of God. Living in God’s Word brings us under the umbrella of protection, so that we lack for nothing. When we begin to live in Him, it’s no ordinary life, but a life infused with His power and strength that helps us accomplish what the world says is impossible. ABIDING IN GOD’S WORD makes us one with Him in the same way that branches are one with the vine.
When we ABIDE IN HIM, He becomes the vine that gives life to us, and we become His branches. It’s because of Him that we bear fruit. Letting Him live in us means He will grant our requests. John 15:5,7 declares,
- I am the vine, you are the branches. He who ABIDES IN ME, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me, you can do nothing’s…If you ABIDE IN ME, and My words ABIDE IN YOU, you will ask what you desire and it shall be done for you.
The Word lives in us according to the measure in which we practice it and apply it to our lives. ABIDING IN GOD’S WORD will help us understand the following things:
- That Jesus is our High Priest in heaven (Hebrews 4:14).
- Through Jesus, we are God’s handiwork (Ephesians 2:10).
- Jesus was made to take our sins and actually become sin itself, although He was sinless, so that we could become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21).
- There is no condemnation for those who walk in the Spirit and who are in Christ (Romans 8:1).
- Being in Christ gives us the same gifts that He has, which include wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30).
- One man’s sin brought death, but another Man’s righteousness brought life. That Man was Jesus (Romans 5:17).
By ABIDING IN GOD’S WORD, we will rule and reign in this life and receive God’s overflowing, unmerited favor.
