Hi family,
As a minister of the gospel, I’ve found that many Christians profess God as the top priority in their lives, but how they schedule their lives often contradicts this. In these last days, believers must take authority over their flesh and make God the top priority in their lives.
SETTING PRIORITIES and putting first things first will either make you or break you. Proverbs 24:27 says,
- Put first things first…
The word, “PRIORITY” means, that which is of first importance; those things in which higher value is placed. Your schedule reflects your PRIORITIES. I encourage you to make sure your schedule is indicative of your profession that God is first in your life.
When you are following your calling, I admonish you to guard yourself against distractions. Jesus said in Mark 4:9, 19,
- “He who has ears to hear, let him hear…[because] the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desire for other things entering in, choke the Word, and it becomes unfruitful.”
I encourage you to see things from Jesus’ viewpoint. If you don’t get your PRIORITIES straight, then you’ll allow circumstances and other people to set your PRIORITIES for you. Rearrange your schedule so that you spend quality time with your family while maintaining your fellowship with God as top PRIORITY.
We aren’t able to have an undistracted devotion to the Lord without changing the way we think. 1 Corinthians 7:35 (AMP) says,
- Now I say this for your own welfare and profit, not to put [a halter of] restraint upon you, but to promote what is seemly and in good order and to secure your undistracted and undivided devotion to the Lord.
Distractions are “instrusions of the mind to bring confusion”. When distractions come, I exhort you to continue to see things through the eyes of faith instead of what lies before you, or they will ultimately get you off course.
When you walk in the Spirit, you will see things from God’s point of view, but when you walk in the flesh, or according to your 5 physical senses, you will see things from man’s perspective, which provides several avenues for distraction.
Remember this family: A fleshly person believes what he sees; a believer sees what he believes.
So, when you SET YOUR PRIORITIES to put God’s Word first place in your life, you will win every time!
