Good morning redeemed ones!
God has many different names, but I’d like to encourage you about His SEVEN REDEMPTIVE NAMES because you are the redeemed! His SEVEN REDEMPTIVE NAMES reveal what our REDEMPTION includes.
The word, “REDEMPTION” means the release of a hostage or prisoner upon the receipt of ransom. We were REDEEMED when Jesus died for us; He paid the ultimate price. God’s SEVEN REDEMPTIVE NAMES show the love that The Father has for us because He allowed the ultimate sacrifice of His Son’s life.
JEHOVAH-RAAH means ‘The Lord my Shepherd‘. A shepherd is someone who looks after and protects his flock. Psalm 23:1 declares,
- The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
And, Ezekiel 34:31 states,
- You are My sheep, the sheep of My pasture, and I am your God, declares the Sovereign LORD.
JEHOVAH-JIREH is ‘The Lord Who sees and provides‘. Not only did The Father provide Jesus Christ as an offering for our sin, but Philippians 4:19 says,
- But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
JEHOVAH-RAPHA is, ‘The Lord that heals us‘. Exodus 15:26b says,
- …For I Am the Lord that healeth thee.
Jesus bore our sicknesses and carried our diseases (Isaiah 53:4).
I want to exhort you that Malachi 3:6 says,
- I Am the Lord; I change not.
JEHOVAH-TSIDKENU is ‘The Lord our righteousness‘. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says,
- God made Him Who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.
JEHOVAH-SHAMMA means ‘The Lord is present‘. Hebrews 13:5 says,
- For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
JEHOVAH-SHALOM is ‘The Lord our Peace.’ Jesus said in John 14:27,
- Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be toubled, neither let it be afraid.
JEHOVAH-NISSI means ‘The Lord our Banner or Victory.’ In Exodus 17:8-15, we read that when Aaron and Hur supported Moses’ hands so that he could hold them up with the rod of God in his hand, Israel prevailed against Amalek. So, Moses built an alter and called its name, “The-LORD-Is-My-Banner. Also, Colossians 2:15 declares that Jesus spoiled principalities and powers and made an open show of them, triumphing over them on the cross.
Remember, Family, the Great News about these SEVEN REDEMPTIVE NAMES is that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
