Good morning blessed ones!

Psalm 37:4-5 declares,

  • DELIGHT YOURSELF ALSO IN THE LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He will bring it to pass.

According to this Scripture, when you DELIGHT YOURSELF IN THE LORD, He will give you the desires of your heart.  In the original Hebrew, DELIGHT means to be soft, flexible, and pliable.  Clay is soft, flexible, and pliable.  Isaiah 64:8 says,

  • And yet, O Lord, you are our Father.  We are the clay, and You are the potter.  We all are formed by Your hand.

When we keep our role as the clay and allow God to mold us into what He wants us to be, we DELIGHT IN HIM.  God wants us to love Him and trust Him enough to that we are happy and DELIGHTED about what He tells us to do.  As a reward for our trust in Him, He can now trust us in granting our every desire.  We can relate to this as parents.  It’s not strange at all for us to try to give our children their every desire when they are consistently obedient and trusting of our judgment.  It’s the same with our Father, God.

There are times when we don’t understand why God is requiring a certain deed or behavior about us, but realizing He knows best, we humbly submit to Him.

God loves our humility as it demonstrates our DELIGHT IN HIM and it’s evident that we long to do whatever His Word commands us to do.  Proverbs 22:4 tells us,

  • By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, honor, and life.

We must be sure not to misconstrue what this means.  It doesn’t mean that we can pretend to be DELIGHTED with God so that we can obtain our desires.  No, God knows our motives.

I exhort you to DELIGHT YOURSELF IN THE LORD.

If you are enjoying my daily words of encouragement and seeking more wisdom from God, I would call that DELIGHT.

As you continue to DELIGHT YOURSELF IN HIM, you can expect that you will receive your heart’s every desire.

Delighting myself in the Lord,
