Good morning dearly beloved!
The starting point to our TOTAL PROSPERITY in life is having a genuine, personal relationship with the Lord Jesus. We obtain TOTAL PROSPERITY by depending on God’s ability, not our own. When the Lord Jesus cried, “It is finished” on the cross, that meant that everything was done – Your healing, your deliverance, and your TOTAL PROSPERITY was paid for. Now, faith give us access to it.
I love what 3 John 2 declares. I confess it every day. It says,
- Behold, I pray that you may PROSPER IN EVERY WAY and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and PROSPERS.
Biblically, PROSPERITY means that we PROSPER IN EVERY WAY – spiritually, socially, financially, physically, emotionally, psychologically, and physiologically. Because of God’s unconditional love towards us, He wants us to be successful in every area of life – spirit, soul, and body.
A successful spirit is one that is born-again. A successful body is one that is healthy. A successful mind is one that is renewed by the Word of God.
When we seek the kingdom of God first, we don’t have to worry about our food, our clothing, and other basic needs. Jesus told us in Matthew 6:33 that all these things would be added to us.
If we focus on Jesus and pursue the kingdom of God, all the things we need will be added to us. We can read what the kingdom of God is in Romans 14:17,
- For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
So many times, our priorities are out of order. We begin to seek the things we need before seeking God. TOTAL PROSPERITY in the kingdom of God is all about depending on God and giving Him the glory for our success, not ourselves. Jeremiah 9:23-24 (Amp) declares,
- Thus says the Lord: Let not the wise and skillful person glory and boast in his wisdom and skill; let not the mighty and powerful person glory and boast in his strength and power; let not the person who is rich [in physical gratification and earthly wealth] glory and boast in his [temporal satisfactions and earthly] riches; But let him who glories glory in this: that he understands and knows Me [personally and practically, directly discerning and recognizing My character], that I am the Lord, Who practices loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth, for in these things I delight, says the Lord.
The key to having TOTAL PROSPERITY as a Christian, is having a truly dependent relationship with and on the Lord Jesus Christ. When we behold the Lord Jesus in His Word, in prayer and in worship, and allow Him to guide our lives, He will lead us to God’s best for us, which is TOTAL PROSPERITY in every area of our lives.
