Good morning believers,
Titus 3:6-7 says,
- God has saved us (made us whole) through the washing of the new birth (REGENERATION) and the RENOVATION of the Holy Spirit…
Isn’t that wonderful news? Did you know that we are actually a NEW creation? In the book of Genesis, Adam was the first creation – the old man. When Jesus came, He made a new creation, a creation that never existed before.
Being “saved” isn’t just some slang word that we hear in church. We have been REGENERATED.
The word, “REGENERATED” literally means a “new birth“, like the changes produced by the return of spring. In the above scripture from Titus 3, the word, “REGENERATION“, denotes that change of heart as a passing from death to life.
Isn’t that glorious? Have you been regenerated? It’s a totally supernatural event. Man couldn’t possibly dream it up. The rest of Titus 3:6-7 says,
- …which GOD has poured upon us richly through Jesus the Anointed, our Savior, so that we being justified to Him by His grace, we now become heirs of the hope of eternal salvation.
See, GOD has poured out REGENERATION and RENOVATION.
Now, let’s look at the word, “RENOVATION“. You know that it’s like to “renovate” an old house? You make it brand new. That’s what God has done for us BY HIS GRACE. It’s something we didn’t deserve. The scripture declares in Romans 5:8,
- But God demonstrates His Own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
See, according to Isaiah 64:6,
- We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags.
That’s why I am so thankful to God that He’s REGENERATED me (given me a brand new heart), and then begins a RENOVATION process in me by the Holy Spirit.
It’s not a New Years resolution, based on our own strength. It’s a permanent, supernatural strength given to us by the Holy Spirit. All we have to do is come to Him. The scripture declares that the battle is the Lord’s and the victory is ours (2 Chronicles 20:15). Hallelujah!
Walking in His new life,
