HAPPY THANKSGIVING
November 23, 2017
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I just want to exhort you on this THANKSGIVING DAY to be THANKFUL today and every day for all the blessings God has bestowed on us.
Each morning, I wake up and THANK GOD that His mercies are new! (Lamentations 3:22-23). I THANK Him for restoring my soul (Psalm 103:1-6).
Look up some of God’s promises (there are over 7,000 of them) and claim them as your own. Not only do I THANK GOD every day for my health, our children, our ministry, our home, etc., but I THANK GOD for His promises to me! God loves it when we do what Isaiah 62:2 says,
• Put God in remembrance of His promises; [keep not silent; give Him no rest until it comes to pass].
I go around all day long, no matter where I am and what I’m doing and say things like,
• “Father, I THANK YOU that I am blessed an cannot be cursed.”
• “Father, I THANK YOU that You said, ‘With long life You would satisfy me.'”
• “Father, I THANK YOU that Your favor surrounds me like a shield and isn’t just for a season – it’s for a lifetime.”
These are just a few of God’s promises to us that we can be THANKFUL for.
If you are breathing, then you should be PRAISING THE LORD. Psalm 150:6 says,
• Let EVERYTHING that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!
People who are THANKFUL have learned how to overcome. “Overcome what?” Overcome circumstances, overcome health issues, overcome difficulties, overcome fear, anxiety, and worry. People who THANK GOD have learned that this is the secret to being an overcomer in life.
We’re to give THANKS with a grateful heart under all circumstances. The Scripture declares in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 that this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Giving THANKS keeps us from complaining and from being discouraged.
We’re to give THANKS because He is good an His steadfast love endures forever. I love Isaiah 12:4-5. It says,
• And you will say in that day: “Give THANKS TO THE LORD, call upon His Name; make known His deeds among the peoples; proclaim that His Name is exalted. Sing praises to the LORD, for He has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth.”
Even if we aren’t feeling like THANKING GOD because we’re having a hard day, THANK HIM FOR HIM! He never changes. He is the true and living God and there is no other. He is worthy of all our praise!
So, come into God’s presence on this THANKSGIVING DAY and make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise! Recount all the wonderful things He has done for you. He made you! You are the sheep of His pasture.
God is good and His steadfast love endures forever and His faithfulness is to all generations.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Thanking God with a thankful heart,
