Good morning salt of the earth!
The Lord has said to us in Matthew 5:13,
YOU ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH; but if the SALT loses its favor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
We can see the same thought spoken by our Lord Jesus in John 15:6 when He said,
If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
On the other hand, He tells us in John 15:7,
If you abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
In these last days, if we do not move on with the Lord and do not walk in the light of His revealed truth, we will become like savorless salt and as withered branches. I admonish you to do what Paul tells us in Philippians 3:13-14,
This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
I exhort you today to stay clear of spiritual stagnation. Continue to hunger and thirst for Him and His righteousness (His ways of doing and being right).
SALT is an extraordinary mineral. Before refrigeration, SALT was used to preserve meat and canned goods.
Today, SALT is also used as a sanitizer in the health care industry.
And, in the chemical industry, SALT is used in the composition of paper, glass, steel, and plastic.
Just as SALT dominates bacteria and stops it from spoiling our food, we are to dominate over the works of the devil and stop him from terrorizing the people of this world.
In the same way that SALT preserves meat and other products, we are to preserve the lives of other people by our faith, prayers, and anointing. Similar to the way SALT adds flavor to food, we are to make the lives of those around us better.
So, if we lose our SALTINESS, how will the world be changed?
I exhort you to heed the Words of our Master and BE THE SALT OF THE EARTH today. Let your light shine before men so that they may see your good words and glorify our Father Who is in heaven (Matthew 5:16).
As the SALT OF THE EARTH, you are called to continue in the good works God has ordained for you to carry out. Numbers 14:21 says,
But truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.
When we allow His goodness to shine through us, it causes men to glorify God. Let us decide to make an impact on the people around us! Let us add some flavor to people’s lives. Take every opportunity, whether on the job, at a social function, a family gathering, in a classroom, or wherever your day takes you, to let your light shine before men!
Walking as THE SALT OF THE EARTH,
