Good morning, believing ones!
1 John 4:1 teaches us that we are not to believe every spirit, but to TEST THE SPIRITS, to see whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
There is so much advise out there floating around, but it is not all good. Diligently studying the Scriptures helps us discern lies from truth, and we should not believe anything that does not line up with the Word.
Many times we fail to stop and listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying. It is not okay to listen to what the world says, things like – it is okay to lie, cheat, or steal, as long as no one is looking. Remember this: Someone is looking and He has 20/20 vision. Hebrews 4:13 says,
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to Whom we must give account.
As adults, it is just as important to listen to the Holy Spirit’s promptings as it was to listen to our parents growing up. With so many choices and so many paths in life we could choose, I exhort you not to let the world dazzle you and sweep you away. It is always wise to seek His counsel first.
As children of God, we have a big responsibility to fulfill. We have all been given the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18).
We represent Jesus Christ on this earth. When people encounter us, they should have an encounter with Jesus. There should be something about us that lets other people know that we represent Jesus.
Ephesians 2:1-2 says,
And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience…
Family, it is so important for us as believers to be on guard. Let us pray until we have no desire except the desire of God ~ to be so transformed into His image and likeness that the devil cannot tell the difference between us and the Lord Jesus. Let us speak His words and do what He tells us to do, just like He only said and did what the Father commanded Him to do (John 5:19, 12:49).
I pray that the Father bring us to a place of humility where we see the danger in satanic powers. Do not believe for one minute that satan is a big ugly monster; he comes as an angel of light. He always comes to make you feel that you are somebody in yourself.
Let us take on the form of a servant, just like Jesus. Remember this: John 8:31-32 says,
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My Word, you are My disciples indeed, and (then) you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
The Holy Spirit is the voice of God to us. He will always help us in our decision-making process. John 14:26 says,
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
If you lack wisdom, James 1:5 says to:
Ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.
