Good morning family of God!
God will always love us, but sometimes, like a parent, He is not PLEASED with our behavior. It is important to PLEASE GOD because our actions will determine how we will spend eternity. As born-again believers, we will get into heaven. However, the way in which we live here on earth will determine how we will live in heaven. God has outlined in His Word what we need to do in order to PLEASE HIM. By obeying His Word in all we do, we will begin to discover how we can PLEASE GOD now and for all eternity.
Ephesians 1:5-6 (Amp) says,
- For He foreordained us (destined us, planned in love for us) to be adopted (revealed) as His Own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will [because it pleased Him and was His kind intent] – [So that we might be] to the praise and the commendation of His glorious grace (favor and mercy), which He so freely bestowed on us in the beloved.
Family, God loves us and accepts us as His children. He will never stop loving us. As a matter of fact, John 17:23 says that He loves us as much as He loves Jesus. However, our actions (or behavior) can displease Him. By His graciousness, through faith, we have everything we need to live a life that PLEASES HIM. PLEASING GOD should be our primary goal in life. 2 Corinthians 5:9 (Amp) declares,
- Therefore, whether we are at home [on earth away from Him] or away from home [and with Him], we are constantly ambitious and strive earnestly to be PLEASING TO HIM.
When we get to heaven, each of us will have to answer the question, “Have I fashioned my life after this world’s standards, or after God’s standards?” See, it is God’s will that we receive full rewards in heaven for living a life that PLEASES HIM. 2 John 1:8 says,
- Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward.
Many Christians choose a life that displeases Him. Once God’s judgment concerning our rewards and losses in heaven is set, it is final. His judgment will never be changed, according to Hebrews 6:1-2.
The Father has a preplanned assignment for each of us. It is up to us to discover His assignment for our lives. Ephesians 2:10 (Amp) says,
- For we are His workmanship [His Own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above – spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].
We are all born for a specific purpose, and God has already chosen it for us. We do not get to choose our purpose. I exhort you to discover and fulfill the will of God for your life. When we fulfill His will for us, GOD IS PLEASED!
I exhort you to pursue your specific assignment with effort, through prayer and confessing the Word. God will give you clues about His will for your lives. He will give you a God-given passion. Also, He will give you a certain anointing or talent to do what He has called you to do.
Imitate the Lord Jesus in all you do, not other people. Allow God to be your guide in discovering and fulfilling His will for your lives. Also, do not forget to thank God every day for giving you the knowledge of His will.
PLEASING GOD in all I do,
