Good morning consistent ones!
Luke 13:18-19 (NKJV) says,
- Then He said, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and put in his garden; and it grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches.
If you want to grow in the kingdom of God, you will need to do it just like a seed that has been planted in the ground.
Let me ask you this? – How does a seed grow? All at once? No, it grows CONSTANTLY – 24 hours a day – a little at a time, until it accomplishes what it was created to do.
Many Christians do not operate that way spiritually. They will study and pray really hard for a few days and then stop. Then, when some disaster comes, they make a mad attempt to pray and stand on the Word, all the while realizing that, for some reason, they are just not as strong as they ought to be.
There really is no such thing as an overnight success in the kingdom of God! Real strength and real growth comes as you CONSISTENTLY and
CONSTANTLY keep the Word before your eyes, in your ears, and in the midst of your heart. Not just when you feel like it, but CONSTANTLY, like a seed, a little at a time.
Randy and I, during all hours of the day and night, month after month and year after year have spent time in the Word of God, prayer, worship and fellowship with the Father. As a result, He has supplied all of our needs and gives us great favor with God and man. I must confess that it has not been a cake walk, but we are doing all we can to go where He wants us to go and do what He wants us to do!
I encourage you to make up your mind to begin that daily process of CONSTANT growth. Determine to start putting the Word in your heart CONSISTENTLY. Every day, line upon line and precept upon precept, continue in His Word and prayer.
Begin to act as though that Word is true every hour of the day regardless of what comes or how you feel. Keep adding to your faith by meditating on the Word and confessing it out of your mouth, seven days a week.
Eventually, your faith will be bigger than you ever dreamed it could be.
Consistently yours,
Lisa Gordon
