Good morning carefree ones!
I want to encourage you today to CAST YOUR CARES ON THE LORD! 1 Peter 5:6-7 says,
- Therefore humble yourselves [demonte, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, by CASTING THE WHOLE OF YOUR CARE [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about your watchfully.
Did you notice that being humble means to CAST YOUR CARES ON THE LORD? The reason you are being humble is because you are not taking the care, trying to figure it all out on your own. You are trusting the LORD to take care of it for you. So, not only can you rest and trust in the Lord to handle your cares for you, but He will exalt you in doing so!
Psalm 55:22 tells that when we CAST OUR CARES (or burdens) and ON THE LORD, He guarantees that we will not fall or fail.
Family, there is no benefit to worry! Worry is defined as meditation on negative thougths that probably will not happen. But, if you meditate on GOD’S WORD day and night, Joshua 1:8 tells us that we will make our way prosperous and have good success.
The great news is that God has given us the authority to take control over worry! Fling your worries and anxieties on the LORD. He is genuinely concerned about everything in your life. Psalm 138:8 says,
- The LORD will perfect that which concerns me…
CASTING OUR CARES ON THE LORD means that we cast them away with force!
I want to encourage you not to worry because worry will steal from you the abundant life that belongs to you in Jesus. Worry is actually a sin, according to Romans 14:23.
When you worry, you disobey what God told you to do, and that is to CAST YOUR CARES ON HIM. Worry can endanger your physical health and sets the stage for disease to attack your body. Family, you were not created to worry.
God tells us in Philippians 4:6 (AMPC),
- Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving continue to make your wants known to God.
I encourage you to turn your situations over to God, with supplication (intense requests) and thanksgiving and know He always hears you when you pray and is at work on your behalf. When you do this, He will provide the answer. Hallelujah!
