Merry Christmas dear ones!

Christmas should be THE GREATEST CELEBRATION OF OUR LIVES because it marks the day JESUS was born and salvation was made available to us.

JESUS the Savior was born to save all people from their sins. JESUS has made us free! Without Him, we would not have the experience of being saved, healed, delivered, preserved, protected, made whole, and kept safe and sound.

In the Old Testament, people were living under the Law of sin and it was a barrier between God and His people.  But when JESUS was born, He came specifically to reconcile all people to God.  JESUS was born into a dark world full of sadness and pain and for many, this baby born in a manger in a remote little village was the last thing anyone expected.  

The people who had not followed the prophecies of His birth were most likely taken completely by surprise.  The good news first brought great fear, then great joy to the shepherds who received this divine message.  That night signaled a new beginning and Christmas gives us an opportunity to celebrate a very special day.

The day JESUS was born ended the war between the people’s sins and God.  JESUS was the reconciliation the Scriptures had foretold.  The news the Angels brought was joyful – a complete switch from what people were accustomed to.

2 Corinthians 5:17-19 says,

• Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.  Now all things are of God, Who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is – that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

The reason why Christmas should be THE GREATEST CELEBRATION OF OUR LIVES is because it was the day that JESUS came to save us from our sins.  

Sin is what separates us from God.  Romans 6:23 says,

• For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Sin inevitably leads to death. It is not a question of it, but when. Even though physical death does not immediately take place when we get into sin and do not repent, something in our lives begins to die, beginning with our relationship with God. When fellowship with God is disrupted, we are cut off from the power we need to be victorious.

“Father, in the Name of Jesus, we ask that You give us the desire to be pure in heart because we want to see You.  Give us an inward spiritual condition of being free from the pollution of this world and freedom to live lives that are governed by the Word of God.  We want to be pure just like JESUS is pure.  We want to exhibit purity in thought, word, and deed.  We know holiness is imperative if we want to have uninterrupted fellowship with the Father and be tools by which He can flow through.  We want Your power, Lord, to impact other people’s lives this Christmas season.  We love You, Father, and praise You for giving us JESUS!”
