Hello loved one!
I would like to take a look together at Romans 8:2. It says,
• For THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS has made me free from the law of sin and death.
Just like there are laws that govern the physical realm, there are also laws that govern the spiritual realm. For example, according to the law of gravity, when you throw a ball up, it will always come down. However, in the spirit realm, you can either live under the law of sin and death or THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS.
The law of sin and death governs any form of poverty (mental, physical, or material), while THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS governs all forms of prosperity, including health, joy, and peace. In addition to this, it is the only law capable of overriding the law of sin and death.
If you are a believer, you have a covenant with Almighty God and you are supposed to be “saved” from all that is under the curse of the law. Galatians 3:13 says,
• Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”)…
(If you want to read all that’s under the curse of the law, read Deuteronomy 28:15-68)!
The word, “saved” in the New Testatment does not only mean that we are saved from hell and headed to heaven; it also means we are healed, delivered, preserved, protected, made whole and kept safe and sound.
The Scripture declares in Philippians 2:12 to,
• Continue to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling…
See, everything has been provided for us through Jesus, but it is up to us to make sure that we activate the law that brings the promises of God into our lives instead of the law that brings lack, insufficiency, sickness, bondage, and ultimately death.
Galatians 5:16 declares this:
• Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
See, all of God’s blessings reside in the spirit realm. Ephesians 1:3 tells us this. Walking in the Spirit is a way of thinking that lines up with the Word of God. It is seeing things from God’s perspective. The Word of God is what makes us spiritual. John 6:63 tells us that it is the Spirit Who gives life; the flesh profits nothing.
In a covenant, like a marriage covenant, there are two parties involved. Well, just the same holds true in our covenant with Almighty God. It is not all up to God. He has His part and we have ours. Deuteronomy 30:19 gives us a hint. It tells us this,
• Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!
We are exhorted to choose life. This means, it is our choice! Also, our ability to walk in the Spirit depends on the way we think. Proverbs 23:7 says,
• As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.
Satan has no power over us if we will stand against him in faith (see Ephesians 6:10-18). We are told in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5,
• For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down imaginations, reasonings, arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ…
Let us decide this New Year that we are going to change our mindsets and renew our minds with the powerful Word of God. Let us keep our minds set on things above ~ higher things that are in line with God’s Word (see Colossians 3:1-2, AMP).
“Father, I thank You for my brothers and sisters today. As they make the decision to not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but they let You transform them into new people by changing the way they think, they will learn to know Your will for them, which is good and pleasing and perfect for them, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
Walking according to the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus,
