Good morning faith-filled ones!
I have just recently finished putting together a mini-series called, “Speaking the Word of Life”. I want to exhort you today to speak the WORD OF GOD over yourself, your families, and your future. Hebrews 4:12 says,
• For the WORD that GOD SPEAKS is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective].
Whenever we speak something in agreement with GOD’S WORD, we are giving LIFE to what we are saying.
The Scripture teaches us in Proverbs 18:21 that,
• DEATH and LIFE are in the power of the tongue.
In other words, our words will either have power of giving LIFE or causing DEATH! See, our words carry trememdous power that we have yet to fully appreciate and realize.
We must confess our faith in GOD’S WORD. We are to speak the things that the WORD OF GOD declares as truth.
Far too many peope are releasing careless words and cannot figure out why the life God has promised them is not happening the way they hoped it would. Let us take a look at a few Scriptures along this line: Proverbs 13:3 (NLT) says,
• Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything.
Proverbs 21:23 (NLT) states,
• Watch your tongue and keep your mouth shut, and you will stay out of trouble.
The WORD OF GOD has revealed to us that not using our words wisely will be brought into judgment. Matthew 12:36-37 (AMPC) says,
• But I tell you, on the day of judgment men will have to give account for every idle (inoperative, non-working) word they speak. For by your words, you will be justified and acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned and sentenced.
On the other hand, you will be rewarded for every faith-filled word you speak. Pray this confession with me:
“Father, I declare in the Name of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit that I will not let any corrupt communication ever proceed out of my mouth, but only such words as are useful, that will minister grace to the hearers. I ask that the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. I will put a guard over my mouth and keep watch at the door of my lips, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
