PERTAINING TO LIFE AND GODLINESS

Good morning blessed one!

2 Peter 1:3,4 says,

 

  • His divine power has given to us all things that PERTAIN TO LIFE AND GODLINESS through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

 

Family, God has given us all things that PERTAIN TO LIFE AND GODLINESS!  But look, even though the Father HAS GIVEN THEM TO US, it's through the knowledge of Him.  We must come to know Him!  Jesus said in John 17:3,

 

  • And this is the way to have eternal life-to know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the One you sent to earth.

 

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.  He isn't a part of my life ~ He IS my life.  I gain all my strength, wisdom, love, help, joy and peace from Him alone.  Not Him and...  We don't want to have "Jesus Incorporated" lives.  We must die to our life in order to find true life in Him.  His love changes us from the inside out; it makes us want to do the right thing.

God has given us His divine power.  We have everything we need to live a life that pleases Him.  God didn't just rescue us from sin ~ He empowered us to be able to life a life without it.  The Scripture says in 1 John 5:18,

 

  • We know that God's children do not make a practice of sinning, for God's Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them.

 

See, walking in the Spirit is walking in goodness.  Walking in godliness means applying the written Word of God and following the promptings of the Holy Spirit.  The promptings of the Holy Spirit will save your life from destruction.  But remember this:  The Holy Spirit always speaks in line with the written Word of God.  Let's learn to walk with the Holy Spirit by allowing Him to speak to us about every area of our lives.

 

When you know the Word of God, you will know the voice of God.  The Spirit of God within you will cause you to live in line with His statutes.  Ezekiel 36:26,27 says,

 

  • I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

 

So, I exhort you to receive all that God has given to you ~ Everything that PERTAINS TO LIFE AND GODLINESS!
