THE GIFT OF LOVE

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

 

Christmas is my favorite time of the year.  I love to give gifts and share the love of Jesus with people.  When God gave us His Son JESUS, He gave He gave us the GREATEST GIFT OF ALL TIME!

 

I think every Christmas season we are reminded of GOD'S LOVE for mankind.  When JESUS came into the world He changed everything!

 

JESUS was God's ultimate GIFT OF LOVE.  God's plan from the foundation of the world was to bless you.  Acts 3:26 says,

 

  • God having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you...

 

This Christmas and throughout the coming year, let us remember to thank the Father for all He has given us in JESUS.

 

The 5 Names of JESUS recorded in Isaiah 9:6 are: "Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

 

Let us look at these Names for just a moment:

 

“Wonderful” - No one else but God can qualify to be called wonderful (full of wonder and awe)

 

“Counsellor” - Jesus is the perfect Counsellor.

Isaiah 11:2 (NLT) says:

“And the Spirit of the LORD will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD”.  Also, John 14:26 declares the Holy Spirit, which is the Spirit of Jesus, is our Counselor.

 

“ Mighty God”

In Genesis 1:1, where is says, “In the beginning GOD...that Word in Hebrew is Elohim.  The word  is plural and it means - God is omnipotent (all powerful); omniscient (all knowing); and omnificent (unlimited power to create).  He alone has the authority to call Himself the Mighty God.

 

“Everlasting Father” - Jesus, the Messiah is the last Adam.  He is the father of the New Creation.

 

“Prince of Peace” - God in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ shed His blood so that all who believe in Him would have peace with God - Philippians 4:7 declares that the peace of God that passes all understanding will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.  Jesus also promised us this in John 14:27 - “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you...” Jesus alone has the right to be called the Prince of Peace.

 

Family, God has a plan for your life and His Name is JESUS!

 

When God unfolded His plan in JESUS, you were part of it. Think about that!  See yourself in His plan and enjoy His marvelous love!

 

Jeremiah 29:11 (berean study bible)says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.”

 

We are all familiar with John 3:16,

 

  • For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

 

JESUS is the source of everything we need - joy, health, a sound mind, wisdom, everything!  Jesus is called, “The Word of Life” in 1 John 1:1.  2 Peter 1:3 says that God has given us everything we need to live a godly life.

 

I love 1 Timothy 6:17.  From the Amplified classic it tells us,

“Not to set our hopes on uncertain riches, but on the Living God, Who richly and ceaselessly provides us with everything for [our] enjoyment”.

 

As we celebrate Christmas this year, let us remind ourselves that JESUS' birth was the fulfillment of God's promises.

 

Back in Genesis, God declared that a Son would be born in the earth Who could crush the head of man's enemy.    

 

Genesis 3:15 (NKJV) says,

“And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”

 

And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her Seed means: there will be a war between the offspring of the woman (Jesus) and satan in order to destroy satan and his hold on humanity.

 

He shall bruise your head means that the offspring of the woman will stomp on satan’s head to crush him.

 

You shall bruise His heel alludes to the crucifixion where satan’s offspring would have a nail driven into Jesus’ heel.

 

And just like God promised, the Son was born and the enemy's defeat was inevitable!

 

The life of JESUS is living proof that we can depend totally on our Heavenly Father to give us a blessed life.  As we allow the Holy Spirit to open our ears to hear what the Father is saying and open our eyes to see what He is doing, living a life that glorifies God becomes a great adventure.  It is a glorious life that we live by every promise God has spoken (Matt 4:4 says that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God).

 

Let us look back over 2025 and see how the love, healing and protection of God has been manifested in all our lives. And it has all been possible because JESUS came to demonstrate God's love, to destroy the works of the devil, and to break the power of him who holds the power of death, that is, the devil. (1 John 3:8 and Heb 2:14).  Now that is something to celebrate.  Amen!
