Dear brothers and sisters in Christ: I am excited to be writing to you on our Gordon Ministries Website! I wanted to encourage you in the area of friendships! 1 Corinthians 5:9 says,
“I wrote you in my [previous] letter not to associate [closely and habitually] with unchaste (impure) people—”.
Who we associate with is so important in our lives ~ fellowshipping with people of “like precious faith” will edify and cheer you on to holiness, but fellowshipping with the world will drag you down. What once may have repulsed you will seem “kind of” okay. The hard hitting scripture from 1 John 1:15-16 says, “15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.” Also, bad company corrupts good morals. And, what fellowship has light (that’s you!) with darkness (that’s the world!). So, choose your friendships wisely and fellowship with those who call on the Name of The Lord out of a pure heart (2 Tim. 2:22)! You are valuable, precious and dearly loved by our father! Blessings to you, Lisa
